The fourth body was returned on February 20th, and Oded Lifshitz’s also identified and confirmed to have been murdered.
The Israeli military officially identified the bodies of Ariel and Kufia Vivas, which were returned by the terrorist group Hamas on February 20, but said the third body was not the body of his mother, Siri Vivas.
“Based on the forensic discoveries from the intelligence and identification process available to us, Ariel and Kfir Vivas were brutally murdered by prisoner-of-war terrorists in November 2023,” the IDF said.
“This is a violation of the greatest severity of Hamas terrorist organizations and is mandated under a (ceasefire) contract to return the hostages of four deceased. We are committed to Hamas with all hostages. I request that Siri be brought back home.”
Disclosure is coming at a sensitive period and is about to resume negotiations at the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire. The light form of the Vivas family and the uncertainty about their fate have become a symbol of the crisis of many hostages in Israel and around the world.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said that the order of the life-stolen life, the fourth hostage whose bodies were returned on February 20, was also murdered.
“After the identification process by the National Center for Forensic Medicine and Israeli Police has been completed, representatives of the IDF have been told by the Lifshitz family that their loved one, the Blessed Memory, Lifesitz, was captured and killed by an Islamic Jihad terrorist organisation. We’ve let you know,” the office said in an official statement.
Dr. Chen Kugel, director of the forensic laboratory Abu Kabir on February 20, confirmed the body as Lifshitz’s body in a statement on February 20, and he was killed. I pointed out.
Kugel said the institute has been working since October 7, 2023 to identify those who were killed after the attack and after the attack.
Kugel said that when 83-year-old Lifschitz was accused of being killed by prisoners more than a year ago.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists drove around 3,000 terrorists drilled holes in the 50-kilometer-long wall separating the Gaza Strip from Israel. They attacked border communities and military bases. And the Sabbath. Some people jumped into paragliding. Gazan civilians followed them in plundering the community.
They killed 1,200 people, mostly Israeli civilians, but hundreds of IDF troops also invited 251 people, injured thousands, killed family dogs, hostages and they went to Gaza He took the body of the murderer.
Ariel Bibas was 4 years old and was born 10 months old when Kfir Bibas was murdered, IDF said.
The Vivas family said they were refraining from comment until the bodies were confirmed as belonging to Siri Vivas and her sons. They asked to refrain from “from praising our loved ones until confirmation after final identification.”

Siri’s husband, the father of two boys, Yaden Bibas, was also taken hostages and detained separately. He was released on February 1st. Hamas said the three were killed in an Israeli air attack early in the war.
The government has announced that the bodies that will be returned on Wednesday will include bibase’s bodies without informing their families. The IDF later apologised for doing so without the permission of the surviving family, saying it was a “false made in good faith.”
Retired journalist and great grandfather, Lifshitz was accused of Kibbutz Nir Oz, as was Bibase. His wife was invited, tempted, beaten, and released on October 23, 2023 along with prisoner Nurit Cooper.
Her husband “fought for the Palestinians for the rest of his life. They betrayed him and took him to hell,” Jokebed Lifeschitz said.

Over a long career, Oded Lifshitz writes for the now-abolized left-leaning newspaper Al-Hamishmar, related to the Kibbutz movement.
In 1972 he defended the Bedouins who had been expelled from the Sinai Peninsula by Israeli authorities. During the Lebanese civil war ten years later and the Israeli invasion, he was one of the first journalists to report on the massacre of Sabla and Shatira, which killed 800-2,000 Palestinians in Beirut refugee camps.
Most recently, Arabic speaker Lifshitz has worked for many years at Road for Recovery, an organization that helps Palestinians get treatment in Israel. His family said they would drive weekly to the Erez intersection across the Gaza border to pick up sick Palestinians and take them to Israeli hospitals.
Lifshitz’s son Ijar said Thursday that the family received his words after being captured from a released hostage that had been detained for two weeks in Khan Yunis’ apartment. He was shot in the arm while attacking, and was about to close the door to a safe room in his home.
Grandson Dekel said his grandfather suffered from high blood pressure and needed daily medicine. The family believes they died weeks after being held hostage, and they could likely succumb to their severe condition and lack of treatment.
“His life ended in a tragic, humiliating, inadequately serviced and degraded way,” Yizhar Lifshitz said. “His house was burnt out, his wife was being invited and beaten.
“As his son, I would say he experienced all this pain and torture outside his house on October 7th, and not alone, but rather die like a Gaza dog. You’d have wanted to know that he was murdered on October 7th.”
