NEW YORK (AP) — Spotify appeared to be experiencing widespread technical issues Wednesday morning. Tens of thousands of users report issues with popular music and audio streamers.
As of around 10:20am, the down detector showed more than 34,000 outage reports on Spotify worldwide, from its previous peak of over 48,000. Many of these users said it was difficult to load both the app and the website, play and listen to songs, and use its search capabilities.
“We know some issues now and check them out!” Spotify wrote Wednesday morning, a social media platform previously known as Twitter.
Spotify did not immediately provide information on the cause of the outage, but SpotifyCares, the company’s support account, said “the right team is working on it and working on fixes.”
In addition to loading and playback issues, Spotify updates also note that some users have difficulty accessing the platform’s support site. The Associated Press contacted the company on Wednesday for more details.
Spotify currently has over 675 million users, including 263 million subscribers across more than 180 markets worldwide.
