TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Low-pressure areas continue to move west across Florida’s Panhandle, primarily to the south of the center, as they cause rain and thunderstorms, the National Hurricane Center said.
The system is expected to continue westward and could emerge or redevelop from northeastern to north-central Gulf Coast.

The low-pressure area is expected to reach Louisiana’s coast by Thursday.
“If the system has moved offshore enough, Gulf environmental conditions appear generally favorable for additional developments,” the National Hurricane Centre said.
If the system moves well offshore, tropical depression could form in the coming days before moving inland by the weekend.

Heavy rains can cause flash floods in parts of Florida to this day.
The heavy rains could continue from today until Friday, causing flash floods to parts of the central Gulf Coast, according to the NHC.
The chance of formation in the next 48 hours is 40%, and 40% for the next 7 days.
