Tallahassee, Fla. (February 6, 2025) – This week, the Florida Certified Public Accountants Institute (FICPA) hosted more than 100 CPAs from across the state as part of its annual CPA Day at the Capitol. This was an unprecedented gathering of some of Florida’s most trusted financial experts to promote the importance of the CPA profession in Florida and to advocate for 2025 legislative priorities.

“I would like to express my gratitude to the elected leaders who spent time meeting hundreds of CPAs who traveled to our Capitol. The importance CPAS plays in maintaining the strength of the CPAs’ economy. “We discussed the importance of protecting CPA licenses as well as their roles.” “We will continue to work proactively on the pathway to legislative measures favoring the profession, and continue to focus on promoting and protecting the profession and strengthening the Florida talent pipeline.”

This year, FICPA is supporting laws that provide innovative pathways to Florida’s CPA licensing while maintaining strong standards and protecting public trust. This will ensure that Florida remains a national leader, providing an effective and efficient licensing process that will strengthen and promote the state’s economy. This also helps to meet the demands of a growing workforce while maintaining important safeguards that protect the public interest.

“My number one priority is to protect our CPA licenses and maintain the integrity of our profession. Shelly Weir, president and CEO of FICPA, said: “Our company is at our company. The proposed legislative change will provide modernisation of licensing, more options and efficiency in the licensing process. This will ensure that individuals are able to do business and work in our great states. We will continue to be the leader in professional business CPA licenses to support you.
