TALHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) – My safe Florida home program updates require homeowners to submit additional information as a necessary step to receiving grant funding.
Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis urged homeowners who have completed home inspections under the program to submit their age and income information through a survey that can be accessed through the program’s website.
In accordance with Florida law, seniors and low-income residents in Florida are prioritizing grant opportunities by providing this information.
“My existing my safe Florida home funding and about $100 million in testing facilities where homeowners have not completed their age and income survey. If you haven’t done it yet, it’s important to provide this information online as soon as possible.”
“This will let the program know how to place applicants and provide grant funding opportunities. If you don’t do this, you won’t receive the grant.”
According to Patronis, my safe Florida home program supports tens of thousands of homeowners across the state.
The program offers free home inspections and grants of up to $10,000, which will strengthen homes due to hurricanes and storms, reducing insurance costs.
