Here’s how to check your IRS tax refund status when

The tax season begins on Monday, January 27th and ends on Tuesday, April 15th, 2025. TAXPayers can track the refund status using the IRS “Where is my refund?” Tools or IRS2GO Mobile App. Direct deposit refunds are usually issued within five days, but other revenues may take up to 21 days.

If you pay less than $600, you may not receive a 1098-E, but you can still deduct it if you know how much interest you paid. 1098-T: 1098-T is used for educational tax credits and deductions. . Report payments received for tuition and education fees. You must also include scholarships and grants. What are the new IRS rules for 2025?

Where can I find my IRS refund?

To track your refunds, you can use the IRS “Where are the refunds?” Search for the tool or use the IRS2GO mobile app.

You will need a Social Security number or individual taxpayer ID number, filing status and the exact refund amount at the time of return.

How quickly do you receive a tax refund with direct deposit?

The IRS calculates the penalty as 5% of the outstanding taxes for a month or part of the month where the tax return is delayed. The penalty does not exceed 25% of the outstanding tax.

If you are 60 days late to submit a return, the failed penalty submission ranges from $100 to $485.

Can I start checking my refund status?

It depends on how you submitted it.

The IRS will post your return status:

24 hours after you electronically file your electronic file after you electronically file your previous year return 4 days after you electronically file your electronic file

The IRS will update this information once a day, overnight.
