TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Board said an employee has been fired over comments about Charlie Kirk.
Kirk, a conservative political activist and founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed last week while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University.
On Sunday, the FWC would like to thank you for a post about Governor Ron Desantis, who wishes at X. A few hours later, they responded to the post saying they had been noticed by one of their employees.
“We do not tolerate or tolerate this type of feeling of hatred,” the FWC wrote in the reply. “We are proactive in working towards a prompt and immediate resolution of this individual’s employment.”
The next day, they announced that an unidentified employee had been fired for X’s post.
The committee shared a social media post where employees revealed Kirk’s death, saying the FWC has a “zero tolerance policy against promoting violence and hatred.”
“We expect that every employee will act with the utmost professionalism and always have the trust of the public in mind,” the FWC wrote.
