(Nexstar) – Guests of Royal Caribbean Icon of the Seas are in stable condition after it appeared to have a hole in one of the ship’s waters on Thursday.
Footage of the broken water slides then took place on social media, showing water flowing through a hole near the top of the slide to the ship’s deck.
A Cruise Line spokesperson said the injured guest, identified as an adult by the Royal Caribbean, did not fall out of the hole.

“Our team provided medical care to adult guests when a glass of acrylic broke a water slide as it passed through the slide. The guest is being treated for his injuries,” the spokesman said. “Waterslides will be closed for the rest of the voyage until we wait for an investigation.”
The Royal Caribbean did not reveal the nature of the guest’s injuries.
Some of the videos shared on social media seemed to show the moment when passengers noticed that the slide was broken. Some people have heard that the operator is screaming to “stop the slides”! ” Others scream for those in line to come back.
Other videos after the incident showed different angles of jagged holes in clear acrylic sections of the slide.
“Well, we always cruise through the Royal, but this is… this is a bad thing. Especially for the sea icon!” one woman who looks like a cruise passenger wrote to Tiktok. “I was trying to convince my husband to go slides with me.”
According to Cruisemapper, the sea icon is currently on its way to Cocokei in the Bahamas. The ship had left Florida on Saturday for a seven-day voyage to the Caribbean.
