Google says that if you need to change the name of Mexico and Denari to a map, you will get clues from the US government.
The company said on Monday that it would only change if the government updated the water area and the official list of mountains.
After taking office, President Donald Trump has ordered the United States to renaming the water adjacent to the southern United States, Mexico and Cuba. He also ordered to return the best peak in the United States to Macinley Mountain.
“There have been many years of practice to apply a name change when updated by the official government’s source,” Google posted in X.
The company stated that the map reflects the update of the geographic information system, which is a database with more than one million in the United States.
“When it happens, we will quickly update the US Google Maps to show Mount McKinry and the American Bay,” Google says.
“Denari” is a good name of the mountain for Alaska indigenous people. Former President Barak Obama ordered that it was changed from the previous name “McKinley” in 2015. This was a respect for President William McKinry, designated by a gold explorer in the late 19th century.
AP communication, which provides news from the world to multiple audiences, refers to Mexico Bay with the original name that has been carried for 400 years while recognizing the name of the American Bay.
However, the AP uses the name Mount Mackinley instead of Denari. This area is only in the United States, and as president, Trump has the authority to change the domestic federal geographic name.
