TALHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) – A senior at Florida State University left a heartfelt note with the Tallahassee police over the weekend.
The Tallahassee Police Department shared a note with the public on Monday in a social media post highlighting the impact of students’ kind words.

Police wrote, “It reminded me of why we were doing it.”
Officers rushed to FSU on Thursday morning, April 17th after 911 calls began flooding when reporting active shooters on campus. It took less than five minutes to shoot him after police found the suspect and he refused their orders.
Tallahassee Police Chief Lawrence Rebel called the response “an extraordinary example of teamwork and professionalism is the face of a horrifying event.”
Two foodservice workers, Til Chava and Robert Morales, were killed, while six others were injured in the shooting.
Many students described immeasurable sadness and trauma in the aftermath. However, amidst the tragedy, one student wrote that the actions of law enforcement that day were “unrecognized.”
“Thank you for risking your life on Thursday, April 17th. As a Florida student, we are very grateful for your courage and courage. Your actions were not noticed,” read a memo provided to Tallahassee Police Department. “We hope that you will enjoy these cookies as small tokens for our eternal appreciation.”
“FSU Senior” signed and left a box of cookies. Police responded to the FSU community on Facebook with their message.
“The experiences of students, faculty and staff that day are unbelievable,” the police department wrote. “To the FSU community: Our hearts and prayers remain with you. We are here for you. We stand with you. Always.”
