TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Bustdoors and debris were discovered by a Florida State University lecturer after being locked up for hours during a mass shooting Thursday.
Photographer and computer science instructor Melina Myers posted a video of the wreckage on X.
Who is FSU shooter Phoenix Echner, Florida vice-chairman?
“It looks like part of the building on the FSU campus is what it looks like now. After the SWAT team clears the building,” Myers wrote in her post. “The pink slips are tapered and means the area has been cleared. All locked doors were torn by forced entry.”
Myers said they were holding classes at the time of the shooting. It killed two people and injured six more.
“This building was where my classes were held and where SWAT came and we were locked up for two hours after we had them cleaned up,” she wrote.
Authorities have identified the shooter as FSU student Phoenix Echner. He was cited as a political science major in university media.
Law enforcement officers shot Ichner when he refused to follow their orders, but he remained alive in a nearby hospital.
