FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — The federal government has been indicted in connection with the murders in Florida, US Attorney General Pam Bondy on Friday attempted to highlight the Trump administration’s indictment of violent gangs.
Bondy joined law enforcement officials at Fort Lauderdale to promote the Department of Justice’s efforts to designate a “foreign terrorist organization” and chase after gangs seized as threats posed by illegal immigration.
Northport firefighters caught the camera and made a bowler along with the charter captain, the chief says
“And more arrests are coming,” Bondy said. “If you’re a gang member living in this country, I declare myself now because we’re following you.”
The three gang members are among nine people arrested in 2014 and 2015 for four murders in South Florida. The three men who were charged with federal government last month have been accused of taking part in the murder of someone who was stabbed and shot dead about 100 times, the Attorney General said.
Jose Ezekiel Games Maravila and Wilbur Rosend Navarro Escobar were arrested in Florida. Hugo Adiel Bermudes Martinez was arrested in Minnesota. An email seeking comment was sent to lawyers for the man.
The violent killings in South Florida were carried out using knives or machetes, authorities say. After the cold weather got cold, cases resumed in 2020, and one of the investigations caused several days of excavation to recover Joel Canisares Lara’s body in 2021 after being reported missing in 2014.
The announcement comes a week after Bondi praised the arrest of the MS-13 gang’s East Coast leader.
For the past decade, the Department of Justice has focused on MS-13. It was born as a street gang in a neighborhood in Los Angeles, but grew into a cross-border gang based in El Salvador. The gang has members in Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico, with thousands of members across the United States with numerous branches and clergy.
