Floridians can buy guns, ammunition without adding sales tax from Monday

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A new tax holiday began in Florida on Monday, giving shoppers the opportunity to buy guns and adding taxes without adding specific hunting, fishing and camping equipment.

The 2025 hunting, fishing and camping season sales tax holidays will continue until the end of the year.

This is the exemption from sales tax:

Hunting supplies

Ammunition Firearms Firearms Accessories: Charging Handle, Cleaning Kit,
Holsters, pistol grips, sights or optics, stock bows crossbow and crossbow accessories: arrows, bolts, quar, quare,
Trembling, release, sight or optics, wrist guard

Camping and fishing supplies

Under $5: Bait or Fishing Tackle Sold separately (Under $10 if multiple items are sold together) Under $30: Flashlight, Camping Lantern, Tackle Box or Bag Under $50: Camping Stove, Foldable Camping Chair, Portable Hammock, Sleeping Bag under $75: $75: If sold separately ($15).
