Floridians burning American flags could be arrested

In August, President Trump signed an Executive Order (EO) chasing people burning the American flag.

Now he plans to follow EO. In his true social post, the president said, “To ice, border patrols, law enforcement, and all US military: According to the executive order of August 25, 2025, from this point on, anyone burning the American flag should enter a year-old prison.”

Legal analysts point out that the president’s EO has not created a new law. Still, if the Supreme Court said that in 1989 and 1990, burning the US flag is considered free speech and protected by the US Constitution, it would face legal scrutiny and some challenges.

The next day, comments on social media were lit.

“We can thank the Supreme Court in 1990 for allowing it. US veterans don’t like it. If you do that in front of us, we’ll let you know,” said Don Britten, a former member of the US Navy.

Another post read: “I agree that it can’t stand it. As a 22-year-old guy in the military, I hate seeing the flag burn, but #1A is clear about this. Personally, if I see it, I just do my #1A thing and grab the flag to protect it.”

“We need to be consistent with our freedom of speech stance, and we always say that a brave soldier has died to protect his rights, even if he dislikes it.

When the White House was asked about the presidential post, they responded. “President Trump will not allow the American flag, a special symbol of our country’s greatness, to be used as a tool to incite violence and riots that put the safety of everyday Americans at risk,” said White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson. “President Trump will always protect the First Amendment and at the same time implement a policy of fake, harsh crime to prevent violence and confusion.”
