Below is an official statement from Florida Chief Financial Officer Blaze Ingoglia. The Orange County budget is about $190 million, which can be classified as “overly wasted spending.”
ORLANDO, Fla. — Today, Chief Financial Officer Blaze Ingoglia called for the general funding budget for excess and wasted spending in Orange County. Given population growth and inflation, Orange County’s current general funding budget is $190 million more than it should be. CFO Ingoglia is calling on Orange County to cut this waste from its budget and to provide property tax relief to its current residents.
The chief financial officer of Blaise Ingoglia said, “This money is in the hands of taxpayers and is not a bureaucrat who has proven financially irresponsible. Orange County spends nearly $200 million on taxpayers’ funds. Tax expenditures.”
“Protecting taxpayer dollars should be the highest concern for local governments. Government accountability is essential to Florida Taxwatch’s mission and we are proud to work with CFO Ingoglia and his office to highlight government spending on waste and lead to higher taxes for the Philolidian.”
Nathan Ducourt, Partner and Chief Strategy Officer, said, “Central Florida has everything we need to lead the country in advanced manufacturing and 3D printing. At Masibemake, efficiency is at the heart of everything we do. And top talent is an incredible combination of opportunity, innovative citizens and wise government, and there is no limit to what we can build together.”

“As an Orange County resident, my property tax burden has increased exponentially for me as well as my employees. I am grateful for the government’s commitment to keeping Florida affordable for my family and reducing government waste,” said Jerry Pierce, founder and owner of the world of restaurant equipment.
Orange County’s general funding budget has increased by $559,151,494 since 2020, up 53.62%. At the same time, Orange County’s population has only grown to 79,000 residents. This means that for each new residents who moved to Orange County, the general fund budget increased by $7.074, with an increase of $28,296 for a family of four.
Orange County has hired 661 new employees since 2020, with the average wage for local government workers increasing by 24.5% over the past four years, but does not include benefits that exceed both the local private sector and the state government workers. On average, Orange County has over $148 residents per person, reducing its millage rate by 0.86 mils without affecting the services offered to residents.
CFO Ingoglia will continue to expose wasteful and excessive spending across the state as a key part of his role as Florida’s Chief Financial Officer.
