Emma told reporters how once he re-entered, Tandider went behind the counter and began grabbing things off the shelf and putting items in his pocket.
Tandidore then tried to leave, but Emma blocked her own path.
“He said, ‘What are you going to do about it?’ And I froze a little,” Emma said.
Surveillance video from outside the store is believed to be a tandider pushing a young woman out of the door and dragging her into the truck.
Emma can be heard and seen on video.
A woman nearby at the time witnessed an attempted invitation and called 911.
“I’m grateful that she’s in the area and that she can get help quickly with it for me,” Emma said. “I hope this will show other women, young women like me that you can fight back and that no matter how small you are.”
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office arrested Tandidore, and he was charged with lure, robbery and a massive stolen vehicle.
