Some call it cheating, while others say it’s a useful tool for students.
However, new data suggests that more students are relying on artificial intelligence software known as ChatGPT for fast and simple information searches.
Essay Shark, an essay writing company, analyzed last year’s Google search volume for terms related to using artificial intelligence tools to write essays. The team looked into 30 search terms, including “AI essay writer” and “How to use AI in essays,” to find out which states are students who want a quick and easy way to complete their essays. They were then ranked from highest to lowest in terms of monthly searches per 100,000 residents.
Florida ranks sixth, with an average of 18.79 months per 100,000 students using academic AI services. Essayshark is a 40 public universities and universities in Florida, where state students generally study business, psychology, engineering, and healthcare-related programs.
Essay Shark CMO Frederick Pocht commented: “Every day, students are struck by information and homework, making them one of the most valuable items in college.

“ChatGpt and models can be used as assistants, but should not be used to write full essays or works. For structural or vocabulary support, AI models expand and enhance students to essays.
Pouch also said that overuse of AI could lead students to lose essential skills, such as critical thinking and research skills. Genetic AI models are drawn from existing materials and open the door to plagiarism concerns. Additionally, the knowledge base is limited, and in reality, information can be created from scratch without any basis.
