Stereotypes about students who aspire to become doctors or lawyers have been forgotten for some time. And with the rise of AI, recruiters are posting more jobs related to that next industry.

Online education platform Studocu has created a comprehensive list of keywords related to college majors.

What they discovered is that computer science is the most popular college major in Florida.

Top 5 College Majors in Florida

Computer science is number one. This field covers computing principles, programming, and systems development. Students typically study algorithms, software engineering, and information systems.

Psychology is in second place. This major examines behavior, mental processes, and research methods. Typically includes subjects such as developmental psychology, social behavior, and cognitive processes.

Music ranked third. This major focuses on music theory, performance, composition, and cultural background. Courses often include music history, instrumental and vocal training, production techniques, and more.

Business Administration ranks 4th. This major introduces concepts related to organizational management, operations, and business strategy. Coursework often includes the fundamentals of marketing, finance, and leadership.

Criminal justice ranks fifth. This major focuses on the study of law enforcement, legal procedure, and criminal procedure. Typically includes topics such as police, corrections, and systems.

Commenting on the survey results, a Studocu spokesperson said, “Students often seek out majors that offer a clear academic structure and a wide range of opportunities. These results reflect general interest in foundational fields across the country.”
