FORT MYERS, Fla. (WFLA) – A boy has been arrested on animal cruelty charges for throwing two kittens on the roof of a clubhouse, according to the Fort Myers Police Department.

At about 8pm on Sunday, officers received anonymous tips about a boy who saw him throw a kitten on the roof of the Royal Palm Gardens Clubhouse.

When officers and the Fort Myers Fire Department arrived, they found one kitten dead.

Video evidence was shown Monday that the officer obtained an orange cat and a black cat. Police said some time later the suspect threw a black kitten on the roof.

The boy whose age and gender are not revealed was arrested for worsening animal cruelty, causing excessive pain and death.

wfla.com requested the video from the police station, which failed to release the video evidence, given the suspect was a juvenile.

This remains an active investigation.
