TALHASSEE, Fla. — Florida welcomed 34.4 million visitors in the second quarter of 2025 and set another tourism record for the state, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Tuesday.

The total marks the highest second quarter visit in state history, highlighting Florida’s position as one of the nation’s top travel destinations.

“People from all over the world come to Florida’s free states and leverage our top attractions, great weather and commitment to public safety,” DeSantis said. “Today’s record numbers are testament to the work they did to make Florida the most attractive state in the country.”

Visit Florida estimates that 91.5% of domestic travelers account for the majority of visits, with 31.5 million Americans traveling to the state. Overseas visits rose 11.4% year-on-year to 2.3 million, while Canada’s visits totaled 640,000.

Visit Florida president and CEO Brian Griffin praised the state’s appeal as a strong demand and family destination. “We are committed to keeping Florida an ideal destination for visitors from all over the country and around the world, in order to promote world-class amenities, unique natural and historic sites and family-friendly opportunities,” Griffin said.

Here are some key findings from the Visit Florida 2Q2 report:

Domestic visitors accounted for 91.5% of total travel, 6.7% of overseas visitors and 1.9% of Canada visitors. Florida’s 19 commercial airports handled 28.6 million consolidations, with Punta Gorda (+22.5%) and St. Petersburg-Clearwater (+14.0%) recording the fastest growth. The domestic air to non-air travel ratio ranged from 37.7% to 62.3%. Room demand at Florida hotels increased by 1.2%.

The state is currently steadily growing both national and international visits, strengthening its reputation as a safe and attractive destination for travelers around the world.
