TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Florida Department of Education announced school grades from 2024 to 2025 on Monday.

Only two school districts in the Tampa Bay Area achieved the “A” grade: Pinellas and Sarasota.

Acquiring a district grade of “An ‘A” indicates the strength and commitment of the student.
Teachers, staff and our board of directors, families, and
community. This is another proud moment for schools in Pinellas County,” the director said.

The Florida Department of Education said 71% of all staged schools won an “A” or “B” in 2025, compared to 64% in 2025.

Overall, 28 school districts in the state received a “A” grade, 31 received a “B” grade, and 8 received a “C.” The state said the district has not received a “D” or “F.”

“The school’s performance this year shows that focusing on the future of Florida education has paid off,” said Superintendent Manny Diaz Jr.
