Fort Myers, Fla. (WFLA) – He was arrested Wednesday in connection with the death of his 12-year-old son, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the boy’s parents, Louis and Qwentosha Massaquoi, said the boy was sick but chose not to seek medical treatment.

The investigation found that the child suffered from multiple medical conditions and his health deteriorated for several months, during which he had not received medical care.

Forensic analysis of parents’ mobile phones revealed numerous internet searches related to medical symptoms, treatment and child death.

The prosecutor’s office ultimately died as a murder caused by failing to provide the necessary medical care.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Lewis and Qwentosha Massaquoi and booked them at the Lee County Jail.

“My murderer detective worked tirelessly for months, gathering evidence and investigating the tragic and cruel death of this child,” Sheriff Carmine Marseno said. “This poor child endured a long-term suffering before his parents ultimately died. We are proud to bring the chief to justice along with the state attorney’s office.

They were charged with aggravated manslaughter, exacerbating child abuse.
