Sunrise, Fla. – The Florida Panthers announced today that the club will recognize forward Brad Marchand’s 1,000th point at a pregame ceremony at Amerant Bank Arena prior to Florida’s game against the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 7:00 p.m. ET. Marchand recorded his 1,000th NHL regular season point on Thursday, Nov. 13, with two assists in a game between the University of Florida and the Washington Capitals.
Marchand, 37, became the 102nd skater in NHL history to reach 1,000 points and the 12th active skater to reach the milestone. He was the first player in franchise history to score 1,000 NHL points as a member of the Florida Panthers, and the fifth Nova Scotia-born skater to reach 1,000 points, joining Sidney Crosby, Al MacInnis, Bobby Smith and Nathan MacKinnon.
