OCALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) – The Okaloosa County Pageant Queen died after crashing in Santa Rosa County, Highway 4 and Hurricane Lake Road.

The family identified the victim as 18-year-old Kadance Frederickson. This is the Miss Okaloosa County Teen Representative for the Miss Florida Teen USA Pageant in 2024.

One death, three injured in Tampa quadruple shooting

Kadance, a student at Baker School, died when the vehicle collided head-on with a tractor trailer on Monday, February 17th at about 2:30pm.

The family said Cadance had just received university acceptance and plans to become a veterinarian.

Her family described Cadance as “absolutely perfect” and “having the whole world in the palm of her hand.”

According to the organization’s website, Kadance created a “Kada’s Promise” organization, which collected over 12,000 teddy bears and blankets to distribute to children who endure abuse and trauma.

Her family continues the organization in her name.

Baker School administrators said counselors and mental health psychologists will be on campus for students on Tuesday.

Arrangements are still being made, but the family is asking for donations to “Kada’s Promise” in place of flowers.
