LEHI ARERS, Fla. (WFLA) – He was arrested Tuesday after police said they had taken another man hostage and made several transactions from their bank account.
On Monday, the victim made plans to meet his friend Nicholas Flores, 32, at his home, and planned to buy a PlayStation 5 from him, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say after he was inside the house, Flores retrieved the machete and suffocated the victim until he became unconscious. The victim told deputies that when he woke up, his legs and wrists were tied with zip tie and duct tape.
Over the next few hours, detectives said Flores had made several transactions to himself from the victim’s bank account. The next day, while Flores was asleep, the victim was able to escape.
The victim was taken to hospital, where he was treated for a life-threatening injury.
The lawmakers found Flores and after obtaining a warrant, they searched his home, which they said they had found an item to be used to tie the victim, along with a mixture of drugs containing cocaine and fentanyl.
Lawmakers arrested Flores, who faces robbery charges of possession of a weapon, a trickery and controlled substance.
