TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Associated Industries of Florida (AIF) announced it is endorsing Republican candidate James Usmayer in the race for Florida attorney general, citing his record of consumer protection, public safety and support for the state’s business environment.
In a statement released Tuesday, AIF President and CEO Brewster Beavis said the organization believes Usmayer has demonstrated a commitment to championing free enterprise while ensuring that Florida remains a safe place for businesses and workers.
“AIF is proud to endorse James Usmeyer for Florida Attorney General,” Beavis said. “During his tenure, he has demonstrated a clear commitment to protecting consumers, championing free enterprise, and ensuring that Florida remains a safe place for businesses to grow and employees to thrive. Strong economic prosperity and the rule of law go hand in hand, so it is critical that our state’s chief legal officer vigorously enforces the law and promotes a strong judicial system, and I am confident that Mr. James will continue to do just that.”
Usmayer welcomed the support, crediting AIF as a long-standing advocate of job creation and pro-business policies in the state.

AIF, also known as the “Voice of Florida Business,” has represented business interests before all three branches of Florida government since its founding in 1920. This voluntary organization works to promote an economic environment conducive to the growth and development of industry, business, and the broader welfare of the state.
The support further strengthens support for Usmayer among business-focused organizations as the attorney general campaign continues.
