TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Gas prices in Florida have fallen to their lowest daily average since May, AAA announced.
Gasoline prices in Florida fell 12 cents last week, and the average price on Sunday was $2.92 per gallon.
“Gasoline prices in Florida have fallen to the low end of the 30-cent range and have been fluctuating within that range for the past year,” said Mark Jenkins, a spokesman for AAA (Auto Club Group). “Global fuel prices are facing downward pressure with reports that global fuel supply is outpacing demand.”
According to AAA, it costs $44 to fill a 15-gallon tank with regular unleaded gasoline, $2.50 less than last year.
Gas in Crestview-Fort Walton Beach is the cheapest at $2.67, and gas in West Palm Beach-Boca Raton is the most expensive at $3.09.
In Hillsborough County, the average price of gas is $2.90.
Average gas prices in Florida are 12 cents lower than a week ago, 7 cents lower than a month ago and 18 cents lower than last year, according to AAA.
