
As expected, it’s cold out there this morning, especially across the Panhandle and North Florida.
Freeze warnings for 14 counties extended Friday morning as far south as Belleview and Dunnellon in north central Florida.

The Florida Department of Emergency Management warned Thursday sub-freezing temperatures and very cold wind chills were expected across North Florida, extending into Central Florida, into Friday morning.
A freeze warning was issued for portions of North Florida, with temperatures forecast to drop as low as 27. Wind chills down to 11 were expected but actually only dropped to the low 20s in some areas by 6 a.m. Friday.

Freeze warning in effect for 14 Florida counties
A freeze watch that was issued Tuesday night for 13 counties in North and North Central Florida was changed to a freeze warning for 14 counties by Thursday morning.
The warning is in effect until 9 a.m. Friday.
“Sub-freezing temperatures as low as the upper 27 degrees are expected” Thursday night into Friday morning, according to the Florida Division of Emergency Management.

Wind chills making Florida feel even colder
“Breezy winds will create wind chills in the middle teens to middle 20s along the Florida Panhandle and across the Suwannee Valley, middle to upper 20s across Northeast Florida and through the Nature Coast, upper 20s to middle 30s southward through the I-4 corridor and towards Lake Okeechobee, and low to middle 40s across Southwest Florida overnight into Friday morning,” according to the Florida Division of Emergency Management.
Cold weather advisories and freeze warnings were issued across much of North Florida Thursday night into Friday morning with the expectation of very cold wind chills.
