PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (WFLA) – Gage Towls, a fisherman who has been reviewed after recording a fierce confrontation with the charter captain, is urging its people to ease their anger.
Stephen Leskovic, a 22-year-old lawyer, issued eight statements on Monday, responding to the arrest of Brock Horner, 40, of Port Charlotte.
Florida Charter Captain Brock Horner ordered not to contact the fisherman after his arrest
Horner, who ran the Tarpon Coast Fishing Charter, got caught up in a debate with Towles. This said he escalated into the Towls boat on a Horner and grabbed his shirt.
The captain was arrested for assault or robbery a few days later, with a robbery on battery charging, and was ordered not to contact Towls.

In a victim’s impact statement, Leskovich said Towls appreciates the support of the community, but he is interested in what Vitriol Horner and his family experienced in the aftermath of the video.
On behalf of the victims, Gage Towls from Boat Tillade, which occurred on April 1, 2025, respectfully demands that all threats be stopped to Brock Horner’s family and companions be stopped at Brock Horner’s hands.
No sailors, no fishermen, nor fishermen have to endure the experiences Towles has experienced and the emotional aftermath that followed, but Horner’s actions will be addressed through the appropriate channels of the criminal justice system.
While Towles is very grateful for the pouring of support he received from people nearby and far away, Towles is also very interested in the pouring of light empt and disgust directed at Horner’s family and community. Therefore, there is no room for violence or threats of violence directed at innocent individuals due to Mr Horner’s actions. Mr Horner was arrested for his crimes. And we ask that individuals be kind to trust the criminal justice system through this process to receive the necessary and appropriate treatment and rehabilitation he is very desperately desperate to need. We ask everyone to refrain from violence and vulgarity during this process and to stop all threats to Brock Horner, his family and/or his lawyers.
I would also like to personally thank the men and women of law enforcement who actively, thoroughly and tirelessly investigated the issue and found the possible causes of Horner’s arrest.

Towles himself has not yet spoken to the media about his experiences. When asked about the interview, Leskivish said his client was “trying to get into the spotlight for now.”
