FORT MYERS, Fla. (WFLA) – A Fort Myers man has been charged with child abuse after police said he “hardly” rocked his baby outside a bar.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said 24-year-old Israeli Ribas was in Naughty Orat Oasis with some friends but was outside with his two-month-old baby.

The next morning, when the child began to throw, the mother asked for a doctor’s appointment and took the baby to the hospital. Staff confirmed that the child was suffering from swinging baby syndrome, but fortunately they didn’t think there would be permanent injuries.
The detective later spoke to Ribas. Rivas admitted to shaking the baby out of dissatisfaction when he can’t stop crying.
Rivas was charged with child abuse and was booked to the Charlotte County Jail earlier this week.
