(The Hill) – Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) accused him of lying about his knowledge of the aviation phenomenon of unknown cause (UAP) during a hearing Tuesday in the House Observation Subcommittee.
“I don’t know what is true about this subject, but I know when we are lying. We are definitely lying. There’s no doubt about that.”
During the hearing, a new, unprecedented video of suspected UAP was on display in October 2024 off Yemen as several veterans testified to witnessing UAP while serving in the military.
Moskowitz, which will increase government transparency regarding UAPS, said the “perfect record” of veterans makes it difficult for the US government to continue obfuscating the American people in such cases.
“Has the story changed? If you’re not wearing suits, it’s politically convenient for the government. It would be much better if you were standing up in Winnebagos and wearing hats,” he said. “This is now the second or third committee, and we have ex-servicemen with perfect records of information and knowledge.”
Tuesday’s hearing featured military veterans who shared stories of encounters with UAPS.
US Air Force veteran Dylan Boland told lawmakers he faced “maintained retaliation” after blowing a whistleblower about the 2023 sighting. He said he saw a “100-foot equilateral triangle” made of “liquid” material taking off from the base he worked in 2012.
Rep. Erik Burlison (R-Mo.) showed the video during an hearing of a flying orb attacked by what he said was a Hellfire missile. The Orb continued its trajectory even after the strike.
“What the hell is that?” asked George Knapp, one of the witnesses at the hearing and a journalist at KLAS at Nexstar.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FLA.), chairman of the Federal Secret Task Force, said at the start of the hearing that “we cannot maintain confidence in the government if we keep Americans in the dark.”
At the end of the hearing, she encouraged her colleagues to sign the letter to ensure that whistleblowers like Borland were given proper protection.
