TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida Attorney General James Usmierer proposed a new detention facility for immigrants in a social media post Thursday.

The judge found Florida Attorney General in a controversy over immigration law

Nickman of the facility’s Alligator Alcatraz, said the facility could be built at the Miami-Dade Collier Training Facility, an “effectively abandoned” airport in the Everglades.

“Florida is leading immigration enforcement and supports efforts to detain and deport criminal foreigners from the Trump administration and ISIS,” the attorney general said. “The governor tapped on the state leader to identify the location of the new temporary detention facility. I think this is the best thing, as I call it.”

According to the Attorney General, the site already covers 39 square miles of land and can accommodate 1,000 detainees 30-60 days after construction. He also said it would not cost much to enforce the boundary line.

“There aren’t many waiting for them other than the crocodiles and Pisons. There’s nowhere to hide,” Usmeyer said.

Your side 8 contacted the Florida Immigration Union for a response.
