Sanibel, Fla. (WFLA) – Five kittens have been saved from an almost devastating outcome after firefighters rescued from a locked vehicle Sunday.

According to the Saniel Fire Rescue District, the owner of the vehicle accidentally locked the car key.

Polk County woman is running through her estranged husband’s new girlfriend, deputies say

While the vehicle was still air-conditioned, firefighters said the kitten was patiently waiting for the responder as it was lying in the passenger tub.

According to NBC’s affiliate WBBH, the kittens were only 10 days.

“They were hugging and were happy to take photos,” the fire department said after successfully unlocking the vehicle’s door.

WFLA.com has contacted the Sanibel Fire Rescue area for additional information about the owner and kitten.
