Talahassee, Fla. (WFLA) – Five Universities of Florida have been ranked on the Top 100 Worldwide University list for the eighth consecutive year.
Compiled by the National Academy of Invention, this list was founded at the University of South Florida and recognized inventors for their patent achievements. This list ranks the top universities that were granted utility patents last year.
Of the five universities on the list, four improved their rankings, and one maintained their rankings since 2023. It was as follows:
University of Florida – Ranked at the University of South Florida – University of Central Florida 26th Ranked – Ranked at 34th Florida International University – Ranked at 42nd Florida State University – Ranked at 55th
“The results recognize the real-world impact of administrators, faculty and students, focusing on innovation rather than indoctrination. Governor DeSantis and the Florida Legislature recently invested more than $200 million to recruit and retain the highest levels of faculty. “These rankings demonstrate the system’s commitment to invention, research and innovation, leading to increased commercialization of communities, states and countries.”
