Fed arrests illegal aliens guilty of sex crimes on Florida Key

In a targeted operation to enhance public safety, agents from the US Miamisector Border Patrol have worked closely with the US Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office to arrest 10 undocumented immigrants over the past three weeks. All individuals arrested have been pre-convicted as sex offenders.

The coordinated multi-agency operation focused on the Florida Key and eliminated dangerous individuals from local areas. All 10 suspects registered sex offenders with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and lived in Florida Keys, authorities said.

Their criminal history includes convictions for the following crimes:

Indecent and perverted behaviors lead to perverted sexual batteries, including children under the age of 16 and victims aged 12-15.

In addition to these arrests, Miami Sector’s Border Patrol Agents detained two other Cuban citizens last week with ice assistance. One has been previously convicted of murder, and the other faces accusations of animal cruelty following reports that he choked violently and kicked a small dog.

Officials say these fears underline the ongoing risks posed by violent criminal pasts and individuals entering the United States illegally. This operation reflects the cooperation and effectiveness of federal, state and local agencies in addressing these threats.

“Each of these individuals poses a threat to the communities we live in. The Miamisector Border Patrol is committed to protecting our community and enforcing immigration laws,” said Chief Patrol Agent Jeffrey Dennis. “We are grateful for the work of our agents and law enforcement partners who supported this effort.”

All arrested individuals are processed and handed over to ice, where they remain in custody as they wait for removal procedures.
