Eight Central Florida restaurants closed for the week of March 9-15, according to data from the Florida Department of Business and Specialty Regulation.

Saffron Indian Cuisine at 7724 W. Sand Lake Road in Orlando was closed on March 11th. Inspectors found 23 violations. These violations included cockroach activity, food halt sales due to temperature abuse, and raw foods that were not isolated from edible foods. A second inspection on the same day revealed that the restaurant was not compliant with emergency orders.
On March 12, inspectors discovered 21 violations. The restaurant fixed a cockroach issue but received an extension of time for other priority violations. The restaurant has reopened, but a follow-up test was required. On March 13, there were 16 violations, with only one being held at the wrong temperature, making food a higher priority. The final test occurred on March 14th. There were 10 violations, but none of them have a high priority. The restaurant met the inspection criteria.
The Chinese chef restaurant on Golden Rod Road, 4042 N. Winter Park, closed on March 13th. Inspectors found 24 violations. Three of these are high priority in rodent activity, with issues related to temperature abuse and food sales from foods held at wrong temperatures. Two tests were conducted on March 14th. The initial inspection included 14 violations, but the restaurant was not compliant with emergency orders. There were 10 violations in the final inspection, but none had a high priority. The restaurant will be reopened and requires follow-up testing, but will not pose a threat to the public.
Brevard
Hangri Joe’s at 3688 N. Atlantic Avenue, Cocoa Beach, March 11th. Inspectors found 22 violations. Six of these were priorities. These violations included evidence of sewage retracting through sinks, improperly stored toxic materials, and washing water discarded into the ground. On March 12, the inspectors conducted two more tests. Initially, seven violations were discovered and the restaurant remained closed. On the second test, three violations were found, but none were of high priority. The restaurant requires follow-up tests, but they have since reopened.
Courtenay Parkway at Galaxy Bar & Grill at 6100 N. Merritt Island closed on March 11th. Inspectors found one violation for 55 flying insects near the sink and beer tap. Two violations were found on the same day during the second test. On March 12th, there were no violations as the restaurant was in callback compliant.

Tropical Rhythm Restaurant & Sports Bar 10401 US Expressway 441 Suite 322 Suite 322 at Leesburg Closed on March 12th. Inspectors found 12 violations. The second test was conducted on March 13th. Inspectors discovered two violations, but neither of them were of high priority. The restaurant met the testing criteria.
Seminole
Sally’s Diner, 899 State Road 436 in Casselberry, closed on March 12th. Inspectors found 18 violations. Seven of these were priorities. These violations included employees who did not wash their hands before using food, cockroach activities and unchanged one-legged gloves when necessary. The second test was conducted on March 12th. The inspector discovered two violations, but none of them have a high priority. The restaurant met the inspection criteria.
Tijuana Flats at 3635 ALOMA AVE. SUITE 1021 was closed on March 13th. The inspector discovered eight violations. The second test took place on March 14th, but the restaurant remained closed as it was not compliant with emergency orders. The third final test was conducted on March 15th. The inspector discovered three violations, but none of them have a high priority. The restaurant met the inspection criteria.
Volsia
Waffle House 2274, 3200 S. Atlantic Avenue, Daytona Beach Shores, closed on March 12th. The inspector discovered eight violations. A second test was conducted on the same day, and four violations were found. It was not a high priority, and the restaurant met the testing criteria.
Complaints and warnings
Orange County took the top spot in Central Florida with most warnings and other complaints at 37.
Volusia had 19, Lake had 11, Brevard had 9, Seminole had 7, and Osceola had 1.
