When is Easter 2025?
This year’s Easter will be in late April on Sunday, April 20th, 2025. However, Easter season starts over a month ago. The season begins on Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of lending.
This year, Ash Wednesday will fall on Wednesday, March 5th, 2025.
Easter Sundays can sometimes fall in late April as holidays are not tied to a specific date. As a result, all related religious holidays leading up to Easter also fall into the second half of the year.
The Easter date and related holidays also depend on whether you are Eastern Orthodox. The Eastern Orthodox Church uses the Julian Calendar, a solar calendar used by the Roman Empire. According to Old Farmers Almanac, Easter and Easter Orthodox Easter will fall on the same day this year.
“Easter is a ‘movable east feast’ so it does not occur on the same day every year. In the Gregorian calendar, it is always observed from Sunday, March 22nd to April 25th,โ says Almanac.
“However, Easter can be observed in Eastern Orthodox Churches from April 4th to May 8th. According to the long-term average, the most unusual Easter date is March 22nd. 23.”

Which crafts can you make for Easter? How to make DIY Easter Eggs and alternative Easter crafts

Dyeing eggs is the most common Easter craft, but that’s not the only option.
If you want to stick to the egg theme, you can find fake eggs made of foam, clay, wood, or plastic and decorate with materials such as paint, sequins, stickers, jewelry, cloths and more. If you’ve tried so many alternatives and want something completely different, there are plenty of “Do Yourself” (DIY) ideas to make Easter wreaths, wreaths and decorations.
The advantage of being forced to find another Easter craft is that the wreaths, wreaths, decorations and fake eggs make them easier to see in your home than a carton of colored hardened eggs. You will probably get more fun from them over the long term, but you have to be OK with not fishing eggs with a full bowl of food dye.
Here is a list of five fun Easter crafts that could be an alternative to dyeing eggs this year.
Decorate Fake Eggs: You can find fake foam, clay, wood and plastic eggs at most craft stores and Amazon. For foam eggs, many crafters suggest dough, thread, or sequins. The foam egg surface is porous and easy to puncture with a needle, making it ideal for fabric-based DIY. Of course, you can “savour” the eggs in the foam with rhinestones, or wrap them in tissue paper or paper Mach. There’s no wrong way to decorate it. Clay, wood and plastic eggs are also suitable for painting. You can wrap the ribbon around the egg and decorate it with a bow or even glue paper flowers to the surface. This craft blog offers step-by-step instructions on how to paint foam eggs to achieve a marble dye-like look and is recommended to stick them on wooden dowels or skewers. Put an old egg carton in a wreath: If you happen to have a cardboard egg carton lying on it, this “Easter Lily Garland” craft is perfect for good housekeeping. And there’s still plenty of time between Easter Sundays from now on to save old egg cartons for this craft. All you need is a few egg cartons, paint, ribbons, needles or skewers. The instructions detail how to turn a carton into a series of cardboard lilies and have a craft that makes another fake flower for a bit of carton that is not used in Lily Garland. It’s also very easy from Good Housekeeping’s Easter Craft list. All you need is a clean cloth, rubbing alcohol, paint markers, or craft paint. Simply choose your favorite candlestick color and wipe each candle with your favorite Easter-themed image on candle alcohol and paint flowers, bunnies, or the entire candle. East Origami: Good Housekeeping list includes origami origami bunny templates. It can be filled with small snacks like jelly beans or small chocolate. Redtedart also has an Easter Easter origami guide, made entirely of paper with bunnies, chicks, eggs, baskets and carrots. Decorations made from all paper: DIY salt fabric ornaments can be thought of as Christmas crafts. However, you can use the same techniques to make Easter bunny, Easter eggs, or carrot decorations. You can tie the ribbon to act as a napkin ring or tie it to an Easter wreath. The process of making salt dough ornaments is like baking cookies that taste bad and require less ingredients. Better Homes and Gardens has a Salt Dough Ornament teaching article and includes this craft on the list of Quick Easter Crafts with pictures of bunny ornaments for inspiration.
If you don’t like these ideas, both a better home and garden and a good housekeeping have a list of Easter crafts. Some crafts on these lists use or feature real eggs.
