January brings egg shortages caused by both avian flu outbreaks and people panic viewing of eggs, raising prices and increasing the number of eggs that each shopper can buy I’ve done it.
According to a January USDA report, retail egg prices rose by more than 8% in December 2024, continuing to experience monthly changes.
And as Easter season approaches, you may be looking for an alternative to dye expensive cartons of eggs.

When is Easter 2025?
This year’s Easter will be in late April on Sunday, April 20th, 2025. However, Easter season starts over a month ago. The season begins on Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of lending.
This year, Ash Wednesday will fall on Wednesday, March 5th, 2025.
Easter Sundays can sometimes fall in late April as holidays are not tied to a specific date. As a result, all related religious holidays leading up to Easter also fall into the second half of the year.
The Easter date and related holidays also depend on whether you are Eastern Orthodox. The Eastern Orthodox Church uses the Julian Calendar, a solar calendar used by the Roman Empire. According to Old Farmers Almanac, Easter and Easter Orthodox Easter will fall on the same day this year.
“Easter is a ‘movable east feast’ so it does not occur on the same day every year. In the Gregorian calendar, it is always observed from Sunday, March 22nd to April 25th,” says Almanac.
“However, Easter can be observed in Eastern Orthodox Churches from April 4th to May 8th. According to the long-term average, the most unusual Easter date is March 22nd. 23.”

Dyeing eggs is the most common Easter craft, but that’s not the only option.
If you want to stick to the egg theme, you can find fake eggs made of foam, clay, wood, or plastic and decorate with materials such as paint, sequins, stickers, jewelry, cloths and more. If you’ve tried so many alternatives and want something completely different, there are plenty of “Do Yourself” (DIY) ideas to make Easter wreaths, wreaths and decorations.
