Dolly Parton will hold a pirate-themed dinner show in Florida

Panama City Beach, FL (WMBB) – After a year and a half construction, Panama City Beach is open for voyage dinners and shows.

This is the largest of Dolly Parton’s three Pirates voyage attractions, with seating for over 1,000 people.

Parton says he thought Panama City Beach was the perfect place to open a new location.

“We know this is a great holiday spot. This is a great place to have dinner because the kids get hungry. They will still sleep after having a good meal and are entertained.”

Pirates Voyage hosts up to four shows per day. Here, performers fight each other on a stage consisting of floating pirate ships.

Buccaneer Bay Lagoon is where the action takes place. The pirates from the Sapphire and the Crimson team fight each other all over the stage. They are joined by Captain Blackbeard and have a salty sea lion.

The show includes audience participation.

“You choose your side, so there’s a race to see who will win the treasure of Davy Jones,” Captain Blackbeard said.

And everyone gets involved.

“Even servers showcasing a great four-course feast will be on the show. You need to see and see what the servers do when they’re part of the BlackBeard crew.”

The attraction has already created 300 jobs in the area.

Parton says performers came from all over the place to become part of the show.

“We actually have people from all over the world, and they track people doing these kinds of things. So we’re proud to have all these great performers and they’re so talented,” Parton added.

Pirates added another show that starts at 8:30 on Thursday night. It is open to the public.
