Disney Experience Chairman Josh D’Amaro will once again be one of the speakers at the SXSW entertainment conference in Austin, Texas.
His theme, announced with Disney Entertainment Co-Chairman Alan Bergan and other unannounced guests, is “The Future of Worldbuilding at Disney.” They “exemplify the fusion of imagination, innovation, and the future of experiential storytelling,” according to the list provided by SXSW.
D’Amaro gave a memorable talk at SXSW in 2023, unveiling a retractable lightsaber and declaring it to be “real.” This was during the brief “Star Wars: Galactic Starcruisers” era.
Disney’s 12 theme parks, Disney Cruise Line, Walt Disney Imagineering and Disney Consumer Products are among the internal divisions under Mr. D’Amaro’s direction. He previously served as president of Walt Disney World.
