Universal Orlando and Walt Disney World both have a Super Bowl presence on Sunday.
Universal will showcase the epic universe theme park, which is scheduled to open in late May. The 30-second commercial released on Friday offers a glimpse into the magical world of roller coasters, flying dragons, water rides, Mario Kart attractions and Harry Potter.
It ends with the catchphrase “Our universe is never the same” before diving into the magical portal, one of the theme park’s trademarks.
Universal says that the ads will run after the game and just before the trophy presentation.
It’s a familiar territory for Disney, and for many years I’ve used post-match periods to promote “I’m going to Disney World.” The company reportedly plans to advertise for the Disney+ streaming service during the game.
On social media, Disney posted that key players will appear in Magic Kingdom on Monday. The final three Super Bowl theme park celebrations took place at Disneyland, California. The last time I was paraded in Florida was in 2021. This represented the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski won.
This season’s Super Bowl has won two-time defending champions Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagle, and will air on Fox from New Orleans. Kick-off time is 6:30pm
