MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA) – The Department of Homeland Security denied the death of a Venezuelan influencer who was taken into custody at the Alligator Alcatraz on Wednesday.
According to NBC affiliate WTVJ, Luis Manuel Rivas Velazquez, known as “Luis Julio,” was fainted at the facility and taken to Kendall Hospital.
On Thursday, Rivas Velázquez’s sister and girlfriend requested in a public post to her Instagram account that authorities provide evidence that Lewis is still alive.
WTVJ confirmed that a statement from Velazquez’s lawyer was alive from the hospital back to “Crocodile Alcatraz” and reported that he was alive.
Authorities did not provide details about what happened.
The Miami-Dade and Collier Medical Inspector’s office told WTVJ that no one died under that name.
