GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. (WFLA) – Deputies with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office have been charged with sexual fire, Sheriff Michelle Cook said.
On June 18, two deputies were sent to their home for an investigation by calling the sheriff’s office to report the theft.
One of the deputies, Ryan Perry, chased the victim downstairs to her bedroom, while the other was downstairs talking to an eyewitness.
A press release from the Sheriff’s Office said Perry had requested the victim to expose her breasts to him and touch her inappropriately.
The CCSO was notified of the claim several days later, June 21, and began an investigation into the claim and evidence collection. Perry was arrested Friday evening.
His employment at the sheriff’s office ended at the time of his arrest. Perry is charged with armed sexual assault.
Cook said Perry began working at the Sheriff’s Office in 2018 and raised two civil complaints against him that were investigated. One investigation lasted, while the other was unfounded, the sheriff said.
“We couldn’t be disappointed that we had to share this news tonight,” Sheriff Michelle Cook said. “It’s personally devastating to us as an agency and to me. We can follow this and ensure that justice is provided.”
