Members of the Florida family were interesting on Wednesday thanks to Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Around noon in the eastern part of Republican lawmakers in the state began receiving text messages.
“It’s Governor Desantis. The leaders of the Florida home are working with Democrats to hamper our agenda and Florida’s success,” he read. “Call your state representative…and tell them to stand with people and me to keep Florida free!”
Florida House lawmakers have been repealed by phone, three elected officials told The Times/Herald.
The text, according to the fundraising web page, states that “Restore Our Nation (Ron) PAC is a Desantis-related committee dedicated to supporting “energy and conservative leadership that conveys the word.”
Desantis excludes the House’s position on many issues. The bill that changed the way university presidents were chosen attracted the governor’s rage and passed the house, for example. This month alone, he has been called the leadership of House Speaker Daniel Perez “bad” and “rotten.”
But it doesn’t cause much confusion between the home and the governor’s office as much as the ongoing investigation of Florida’s hopes. Lawmakers are considering the initiative. The initiative is spearheaded by First Lady Casey DeSantis and associated foundations that believe Medicaid funds may have leaked to political causes at the request of the governor’s office last year.
Rep. Alex Andrade of R-Pensacola is at the forefront of the House investigation. His members received texts from Desantis World and his office received calls, but none of them were negative, he said.
“I got a lot of Atavoys,” he wrote in the text.
Rep. Michelle Salzman, another Panhandle Republican, said her office received 28 calls.
Desantis’ message did not appear to discriminate against friends or enemies.
Members of R-Delray Beach MP Mike Caruso also received the message despite the fact that Caruso is one of the governor’s most loyal allies in the home.
In a text message to the Times/Herald, Caruso wrote that he explained to dozens of callers that he was fighting for DeSantis in Tallahassee.
