TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Florida and Ice have announced the results of the crackdown on co-immigrants.
Gov. Ron DeSantis said at a press conference Thursday in Miramar that more than 1,100 immigrants in the country had brought a weekly deadline in Operation Tide Dal Wave.
“They weren’t afraid”: group-tracked Tampa Bay business owners broke into their home and stole $1.7 million, Judd says.
“If you’re here illegally, you’re violating the law,” DeSantis said.
Desantis honors the 287(g) contract that allows state and local law enforcement agencies to partner with ICE to make numerous arrests from April 21st to April 26th.
Jeffrey Dinis is the Miami Sector, the main border patrol agent of the US Border Patrol.
“Border Patrol and Polk County Sheriff’s deputies helped to arrest Geiler Orobio, an illegal foreigner from Columbia, after being released from the local detention facility,” Dinis said. “Orobio has been charged for re-entry after deportation and will be deported.”
It could be sentenced to up to two years and/or fines, according to the Department of Justice.
Last August, Polk Sheriff Grady Judd announced that Orobio Cabezas was charged with assault and robbery and was held on $3.1 million in bonds. He was accused of being involved in a South American theft group.
Over a recent weekend, relatives and supporters gathered for the return of a Cuban woman who married a naturalized citizen along with a Tampa infant. It is unclear whether the Heidi Sanchez incident is related to the surgery, but she was deported last week shortly after ice check-in. Her lawyer said she received an outstanding deportation order in 2019 but was allowed to stay and work after Cuba refused to first get her back.
“Give her”: Family gathering after Tampa’s mother suddenly returns to Cuba
“They had a lot of processes. They were ordered to delete them and they were not following those removal orders. That’s a huge priority for our state’s efforts,” DeSantis said.
On Monday, Rep. Kathy Caster called her removal “cruel” and “illegal” and called her humanitarian parole.
Here is the complete letter to the President of Congress:
Dear President Trump:
I write to call for the cruel and illegal treatment of Heidi Sanchez of Tampa, Florida, who was separated from her young daughter and husband last Thursday and taken to Cuba. He grants Sanchez humanitarian parole and prompts her to return her to the Tampa family soon.
Sanchez’s husband, Carlos Uniel Valle, advised that the separation between mother and daughter was very sudden and traumatic, and that her young daughter was taken to the hospital. The baby was still breastfed when your administration tore them apart, and the baby’s ongoing health issues require the mother to return to the US as soon as possible. Sanchez, a mother and home health aide, complied with Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) requests to check in regularly at her local Tampa office. When appointed last Tuesday, she was suddenly torn apart by her daughter and husband and was transported to Cuba.
It is merciless and wrong for your ice staff to hurt your family this way. Sanchez is entitled to a legitimate process, and her husband and daughter (both American citizens) deserve to be treated with the dignity we cherish as Americans. With her choking and oppressed in Cuba and lacking essentials such as food and clean water, Sanchez should not be trafficked to a country where she is hurt and suffered.
Since you attended Pope Francis’ funeral over the weekend, we encourage you to respect his memory by acting consistently with his recent warning that “we are asked to consider the legitimacy of norms and public policy in light of the dignity of a person and his or her fundamental rights.”
Treating the Sanchezval family is a deep stain on your administration and you are disliked by American values and constitutional protections, but you don’t need to do this. You have the authority to grant Sanchez humanitarian parole and reunite this family in Tampa today. I recommend doing so soon.
