The Board of Directors of the Hills Boro County Aviation Bureau has approved a contract to create a delta aerial anchor tension at Air Side D at Tampa International Airport (TPA). The $ 1.5 billion project is the first new air side in nearly 20 years, opened in 2028, and has a 16 -gate terminal for international and domestic flights.

Delta is working to occupy at least six gates and operates the lounge at a mesanin level for up to 20 years.

“Delta is an important partner for TPA for more than 65 years and is excited to extend this partnership to AirSide D,” said Joe Lopano of TPA. “This contract will strengthen services for Tampa Bay travelers.”

Currently, Delta is operated by the six gates and Sky Club of the Air Side E and offers 13 destinations on average of 36 a day. In the past decade, Delta and their partners have transported about 33 million domestic and more than 1 million international passengers.

Delta has launched non -stop flights from Tampa to Amsterdam in October 2024, plans to add non -stop services this year to expand its service.
