The incident occurred Sunday, March 23rd around 3pm, according to the Pembroke Park Police Department. Video shot by the bystanders showed a large number of dirt bikes and motorcycles stopped at a Racetrac gas station on Pembroke Road.
Investigators said a group of individuals ranging from 90 to nearly 150 were actively involved in illegal street takeovers when the incident occurred, and were involved in several other South Florida prior to heading to the gas station.

“Street takeovers are dangerous and illegal events where groups of individuals who operate vehicles, motorcycles or ATVs often manage public roads,” police said. “These activities include frequent reckless driving, high-speed operation, drifting and burnout, pose serious risks to public safety and often result in collisions and injuries.”
Police Department said the group was believed to have continued to engage in “reckless behavior” after leaving the gas station.
