Quebec’s crown is a man accused by experts of killing two children and injuring six other people when the bus he was driving crashed to childcare, criminalized for mental disorder He says he concluded that he was not responsible for this.
Prosecutor Karine Dalphond told the judge today that once the murder trial of Pierre NY St-Amand proceeds, the Crown and the Defence will jointly present the facts of the case.
This development means that, instead of the ju trial that begins in April, only the judges will hear the evidence.
NY St-Amand was arrested on February 8, 2023 after a transport bus crashed in front of a nursery in Laval, Keala.
Dalfond said two psychiatrists investigated NY St-Amand and both concluded that he should not be criminally liable.
