Alta Monte Springs, Fla. (WFLA) – A Florida man and his service dog are fortunate to be alive after surviving a coyote attack while walking.

According to NBC affiliate WESH, Chris Mac and his boxer, Body, were out for a late-night walk along Leatherwood Drive in Alta Monte Springs at around 11pm on Wednesday.

Mack told Wesh that two appeared at each end of the street and found three coyotes in a nearby wooded area.

Body was charged after one of the coyotes, pulling the owner to the ground, causing scuffs on his face and arms.

“I knocked hard. [Bodhi] I took off with so much force that the dog would take me along, and at the same time I crept this a little closer because I was on the ground,” Mac said, referring to the second coyote. . Back, he came in like a bullet. When a 95 pound dog comes to you at 35 mph. You’re like a bowling pin. So the coyotes took off often. He pushed the bull from 3 and a half to 4 feet. ”

Body has driven the Coyotes away, but Mack is sure to return to all the new developments in the region.

“We’re building very quickly. I don’t think these animals aren’t around. I don’t think they’ll disappear if they take up their space,” Mac told Wesi.

No details about the attack were available.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Committee is currently investigating. WFLA.com will contact you for more information.
