DELTONA, Fla. (WFLA) – A predicted couple has made a statement after falling victim to a rental scheme in Florida.

According to NBC affiliate Wesh, her fiancé Lindsay Russo and Michael Rios, along with Lindsay’s 8-year-old son, found a home on a popular website they wanted to rent. But things changed when they began communicating with the owner and “Jack.”

The couple received a contract from Jack that seemed legal and was able to access a website that provided a code to enter the house.

After that, Jack began to continuously demand more money. I’ve increased my fees like $1,500 in deposits, part of my first month’s rent, $554, $554 to pay my first month’s rent balance, and $400 in my dog deposit.

Eventually, Jack stopped responding and his number was cut off.

Holly Salmons of Better Business Bureau emphasized to reporters the importance of meeting with a landlord to avoid putting himself at odds.

Luckily, Lindsay and Michael have not thwarted this set-off or their plans to start a new family or find a new place to live.
