Colonel Miami -Colonel Florida Janet Nunes once advocated a bill for granting a tuition in the state to university students living in the country, but now the legislation has “operated the course” and abolished. I think I’m looking for it.
She announced a changing stance via her X account on Saturday and responded to a video posted by Senator Jason Pizzo, a Democratic member of South Florida. In this video, Núñez encouraged members to support the bill in 2014, indicating that they had extended their tuition prices in the state, illegally in Florida, but illegally in the country.
“I stood here today, and I believe that this bill is hard to balance fairness, plugmatism, and compassion for common sense,” she said in the 2014 video. “And it’s a pitiful thing in my opinion to Grand and inject political rhetoric in this discussion.”
The law was passed and the law was signed by the GOV at the time. Rixcott in June 2014.
Educational leaders, including President Mark B. Rosenberg at the time of Florida International University at the time, praised Nunes at the time.
“The unprecedented movement by Congress will really make a difference in our students’ lives, and I am grateful for the courage and persistence of the people who supported this measure.” Burg said at the time.
Almost 11 years later, Nunes has now argued that “our country looks very different than today.”
Her shift consistent with Governor Ron Desantis to abolish the law, saying that the state should not “subsidize” non -US citizens’ education.
The bill signed in 2014 has allowed thousands of students from Florida to access higher education.
According to the High Educational Immigration Portal, more than 43,000 students live in the country in the country, including those who are participating in Nunes Alma Matter in Florida.
